2005. Voortplantingsonderzoek met kunstmatige inseminatie. In 2005 zijn de eerste twee dolfijntjes verkregen door kunstmatige inseminatie in Europa geboren op het dolfinarium. Momenteel wordt onderzoek gedaan naar de mogelijkheid om kunstmatige inseminatie te verrichten met geslachtsgescheiden sperma. Deze technieken zijn nuttig voor het management van collecties dieren die onder mensen handen worden gehouden, wat betreft het voorkomen van inteelt, het bereiken van een goede geslachtsverhouding en uiteindelijk het verminderen of voorkomen van de noodzaak om dieren uit het wild te verkrijgen. Deze technieken kunnen evenzeer worden ingezet om sterk bedreigde soorten dolfijn-achtigen in stand trachten te houden.
